Joyful Archaeology - CW Stockwell from 1905 to the Present

After more than a century in business, this time-honored heritage brand relaunched in 2019 with 14 new wallpaper and textile patterns — drawn from and inspired by the century-old pattern archive — all of which are imbued with the same ebullient nature this timeless brand has heralded since its inception in 1905.

Patterns range from bold large-scale botanicals like “Remy,” brought to life from an original drawing the former owner created but never produced, to “Sakana”, a dreamy school of Koi fish swimming every which way, reborn from a 1950s Stockwell pattern.

The collection strives to offer a breadth of styles — from organic, hand-drawn geometrics to allover florals — and in a range of scales that work well in tandem,
or carry their own weight as standalones. The entire range of wallpapers and fabrics is printed by hand in Los Angeles, California.

Entrepreneur and home decor industry veteran Katy Polsby was compelled to reinvent this iconic brand and carry on its legendary spirit after the passing of third-generation owner and then-CEO Remy Chatain Jr., a close family friend.
